THE PROJECT

GO! Pasta is a cross-border project that highlights the rich heritage of filled pasta from the regions of Alto Friuli and Goriška: the cjarsons and the Idrijski žlikrofi.

We’ll be traveling far and wide across Friuli Venezia Giulia and Slovenia with a branded food truck.

Through activities such as creating an interactive map and hosting events, GO! Pasta aims to build a strong community that bridges the two regions: producers, restaurateurs, cooking schools, public institutions, and food lovers alike.

Will new dishes emerge from this collaboration?

Who knows! What is certain is that the European Capital of Culture GO! 2025 offers a unique opportunity, a bridge that invites us on a journey, perhaps even a culinary adventure, to discover two dishes with a strong identity.

GO! 2025
Nova Gorica-Gorizia
European Capital of Culture

When GO! 2025 was first envisioned in 2016, it was a reaction to a troubling trend: the region was gradually sliding into a crisis and urgently needed to turn things around.

GO! 2025 represents a launching pad towards a cross-border conurbation—a green, vibrant, sustainable city open to Europe and the world, dynamic and entrepreneurial. A city with a pleasant, happy, and creative environment for its residents, and a beacon of solidarity and collaboration beyond all kinds of borders.

The square shared by two cities, Piazza Transalpina, is the heart of the cultural and artistic program: the EPICenter of Nova Gorica and Gorizia as a single European cross-border city.
